Ben joined Bailard in 2019. As Senior Vice President, Director of Business Development and Client Services, Ben is responsible for representing Bailard’s real estate platform and expanding relationships with institutional investors, investment consultants, and other financial institutions.

Before joining Bailard, Ben was a Managing Director of Business Development for NewOak Capital, where he developed a North America sales strategy focused on institutions and consultants. Previously, he served as Vice President, Product Manager for Real Estate and Infrastructure strategies at Franklin Templeton Investments. Prior to Franklin, Ben held senior roles with Apollo Global Management, Citi Property Investors, Bear Stearns Asset Management, U.S Trust, and State Street Research. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Hamilton College. Away from the office, Ben enjoys traveling, spending time with family and coaching his sons’ youth lacrosse teams.

 

Alex Spotswood
Bailard Inc

Alex joined Bailard’s real estate team in 2016. As Senior Vice President, his responsibilities include acquisitions of new investments as well as portfolio and asset management within the real estate portfolio. Prior to Bailard, he worked at Eastdil Secured in San Francisco on the Debt Capital Markets team where he assisted in sourcing and structuring commercial mortgage financings for all asset types nationally. Prior to Eastdil Secured, Alex served as a Portfolio Analyst for SunTrust Institutional Investment Solutions. He received an MBA in Real Estate Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler Business School and a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia. Outside of work, Alex enjoys hiking, snowboarding, golfing and Atlantic Coast Conference sports.
