Von is managing director and head of Calvert Research and Management. He is responsible for expanding Calvert’s institutional offering, cultivating deeper partnerships across the institutional marketplace, evaluating the growth prospects for new products and services and broadening Calvert’s impact through educational initiatives. He previously served as head of Calvert Institutional Solutions Group. Von is a member of Calvert’s Executive Committee. He joined Calvert Research and Management in 2022. Before joining Calvert Research and Management, Von was partner & managing director and the global head of strategic advisory and client acquisition at PAAMCOPrisma. He also served as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Previously, he was a vice president at Goldman, Sachs and Co. in the equity capital markets group and managing director at Utendahl Capital Partners, L.P., where he led the mergers & acquisitions group. He began his career as an associate in mergers & acquisitions for Goldman, Sachs and Co. Von earned a B.A. from Yale University, a J.D. from Harvard Law School and an M.P.P from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He was an editor on the Harvard Law Review and served as judicial clerk for the Honorable Thomas P. Jackson, U.S. District Court (D.C.). He was named as one of the Top 100 People in Finance by Top 100 Magazine in 2020. He is an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School, teaching a course based on his award-winning book “U.S. Public Pension Handbook: A Comprehensive Guide for Trustees and Investment Staff” (McGraw-Hill, 2019).
