Evan is a Partner and Managing Director of Institutional Research at Mariner Institutional. He ensures that the functions, directives, structure, staff and policies of Mariner Institutional’s Research Department support the overall strategies and objectives of the firm. Evan creates departmental policies and works directly with the firm’s National Managing Director and National Director. In addition, Evan communicates department initiatives and develops supporting tasks for team members to execute while holding them accountable. Finally, Evan coaches, educates and mentors members of the Institutional Research Group to develop them as analysts and managers.
Evan has 26 years of investment experience covering many areas of investment oversight and due diligence, including fund accounting, 401(k) plan management, record keeping, competitive analysis, manager selection, and investment consulting. Prior to joining Mariner Institutional, Evan was a Senior Associate with Mercer Investment Consulting, based in Chicago. At Mercer, Evan researched both U.S and International equity and fixed income strategies, and at various times, held the titles of US Head of Core Equity and Global Head of Convertible and Municipal Bonds. Evan held previous positions at Aeltus Investment Management, Aetna Financial Services, Cigna Retirement, Prudential Retirement, and Securities, Software and Consulting (SS&C).
