Committees & Board Overview

Board of Directors

The FPPTA is operated by a Board of Directors elected by the general membership. The Board of Directors is comprised of Pension Board Trustees and Administrators who are members of the FPPTA. There are seven Board Members and five Directors Emeritus.

Education Committee

The FPPTA’s Education Committee includes associate members, trustees, directors, staff, and consultants. Broadly inclusive by design, this committee is responsible for preparing a well-rounded curriculum for the CPPT Program and thought-provoking sessions for the CEU programs. The committee meets throughout the year to discuss the curriculum for the trustee’s schools and conference based on the educational needs of FPPTA members.

Mentorship Program

The mentorship committee is a group of veteran trustees who have been coming to FPPTA events for years and can provide insight, guidance, and be there to answer any questions new members may have. We encourage you to reach out to them in the halls or by email/phone to say hello and to seek them out should you run into any issues.

Audit Committee

The Board of Directors requests an annual audit of the organizations budget and expenses which is provided by an audit committee.

The bylaws committee is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the organization’s bylaws.

Executive Oversight Committee

The executive oversight committee performs oversight for office operations and reports to the Board of Directors.

Golf Committee

The Associate Members’ Charity Golf Classic is held on Sunday each June at the FPPTA Annual Conference and as its name implies, it is sponsored and funded by FPPTA Associate Members. It was first held in 1988.

Raymond T. Edmondson Scholarship Award Committee

In recognition of the vision and leadership Raymond T. Edmondson provided the FPPTA as CEO since its inception in 1984 until his retirement in 2014, the FPPTA is proud to announce the creation of the Raymond T. Edmondson Scholarship Award.

Relief Fund Committee

In 2010, the FPPTA Relief Fund was established to provide financial assistance to FPPTA members in need, so today profits from the golf tournament are deposited into the Relief Fund account, which is governed by a committee representing Associate Members, the FPPTA Board of Directors and Trustee Members.
